Know My Neighbour Week

A huge thank you to all those who put on events for our first ever Know My Neighbour Week. If you were part of one of these events, or attended one of them, we would love to hear any stories that may encourage others to get to know their neighbours..

Know My Neighbour Week 21st -27th May

There are activities happening throughout the week to promote neighbourliness and encourage people to get to know their neighbours. Below are some of the things that are happening:

Sat 21st – Fri 27th May

CafeNeighbour Pop-up Cafe

11am-7pm One Church, Gloucester Place, BN1 4AA

All week there will be a pop-up café with performances from local artists and workshops by local community groups. Bring along your neighbour for a free coffee. Step access required. Full listings. 

Saturday 21st May

Stanmer flyer-front-2016-2Stanmer Organics

11am – 6pm Stanmer Organics Spring Open day, including projects such as Fork and Dig it and Physic Garden, Stanmer Park. The day includes – site tours, pizza making and Hape zume leaf printing. A great day out and chance for people to meet and join the Stanmer Organics community. Further info

 

 

Sunday 22nd May

OCB FeastOne Church Florence Road Neighbourhood Feast

12.30pm – One Church, Florence Road, BN1 6DL

One Church is opening its doors to those living in the local community and sharing lunch.

 

 

KMN_picnic_Saunders_ParkBrighton and Hove Food Partnership

12pm-3pm – Community Picnic, Saunders Park, Brighton

Bring your neighbour along to share food and games with other local residents. Further info.

Fork and Dig It

11am-4pm at Stanmer Organics, Stanmer Park. A weekend volunteering session with shared lunch.

 

Tuesday 25th May

A Walk Around the Level with Geoff Mead at 6pm this evening. Join us between 5.30 and 6pm for the start of the walk at the Level Cafe and visit the McLaren Room to see a fascinating collection of images of the Level. Details see here.

Wednesday 25th May

T2TTime to Talk Befriending

2.00pm-4.00pm – ‘Honouring Older People Event’ at Ingram Crescent,Hove.

This is an event of a traditional afternoon tea; music; guest speaker; and photographs of Brighton remembering how it used to be for people aged 65+ living in the Ingram Crescent Community. Please call Time to Talk Befriending on 01273 737710 to find out more and reserve your place.

Thursday 26th May

PrintImpact Initiatives Hop50+ Café

2pm-3pm – Palmeria Square, Hove.

An open afternoon for Hop50+ customers and their neighbours – to include an art display; tea and cake; and a quiz with a Brighton and Hove theme.
