We have had an incredible start to the Know My Neighbour campaign in Brighton and Hove! Below you’ll find some information about our progress in the 6 months of 2016 and plans for the future.
20,000 ‘hello’ KMN postcards, sponsored by East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, were produced and over 10,000 have already been distributed. The website was re-vamped and a short promotional film was made – thank you to the Duke of York’s Picture House for showing this before some of their features during the Brighton and Brighton Fringe Festivals.
21st-27th May saw our first ever Know My Neighbour Week. Many partners got involved, putting on events and sharing the word to encourage neighbourliness, and a Pop-Up Cafe with various acts and activities ran throughout the week at One Church in Gloucester Place. To promote the week Know My Neighbour featured in programmes on a number of local radio stations; the local press and various newsletters; and even made South East Today.
We have developed over 20 partnerships with organisations, including Brighton and Hove City Council, across the City.
Reflecting on the last 6 months, Know my Neighbour has achieved a lot and there are plans for more! Looking ahead, we hope to develop more partnerships and are also working on a resource pack for organisations and individuals to use. For details of upcoming events and initiatives click here.
